We appreciate all your help, support, donations, and dedication!   Thank you for all you have done!!!

ALL SCHOOL PICNIC - JUNE 17, 9:45am - 1:00pm -   VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
The All School Picnic will be held June 17, 9:45am - 1:00pm, during the three lunches, where Nelsen School provides lunches for all the kids.  But parents are needed to help pass out food.  Volunteers need to be at school at 9:45am, if possible, to help set-up.  If you can help, please e-mail Rebecca Schlosstein at rebecca.schlosstein@rentonschools.us.
What a great opportunity to come during your kid's lunch, and see who they hang out with, without having them be mortified at your presence (your excuse is we asked for your help!).

8TH GRADE FIELD TRIP, June 18, 9:00am - 1:30pm -  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!
The 8th graders will have exclusive use of the Henry Moses Aquatic Center (which will be closed to the public). The baseball field and basketball court in the Renton Community Center will also be open during this time.  At least 25 volunteers are needed to help chaperone.

If you can help, please contact Rebecca Schlosstein at rebecca.schlosstein@rentonschools.us.   This is one of the best field trips to chaperone!

8TH GRADE DANCE NEWS

The 8th grade dance is scheduled for Monday, June 21, 2010, starting 6:30pm, in the Nelsen Cafeteria.

Although the ASB and Nelsen staff take care of most of the arrangements, the parents play a very integral role in making the last dance of the year a memorable, fun event.  Parents help primarily with decorations, miscellaneous items, and chaperoning.  If you are interested in helping and/or chaperoning, please e-mail Geri Garl at fourgarls@comcast.net.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! *

* We will need LOTS of help setting up prior to the dance on June 21st, from 2:00 - 4:00pm.

* We also need more chaperones in order to make this a success.  Please let us know if you can help!

ATTENTION   7th and 8th GRADE PARENTS — HAVE YOUR STUDENTS SIGN UP NOW FOR GUARANTEED COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

College Bound Scholarship
The College Bound Scholarship provides hope and incentive for students and families who otherwise might not consider college as an option because of its cost.

The amount of the scholarship will be based on tuition rates at Washington public colleges and universities and will cover the amount of tuition and fees (plus $500 for books) not covered by other state financial aid awards.

Low-income 7th and 8th grade students who sign a pledge by June 30 of their 8th grade year are eligible. Students promise to graduate from high school, demonstrate good citizenship, and seek admission to a college or university.
